Meet Nicole

Welcome! I founded Defy Dyslexia in June 2021 and have been a Lexercise teletherapy partner since.   I provide teletherapy to clients around the world using either Lexercise's Structured Literacy or IMSE's Orton-Gillingham. 

My lifelong passion is to help others develop the necessary skillset to be a confident, successful reader.  I experienced difficulty learning how to read as a first grader and later had difficulty reading to learn as a fifth grader.  I am driven to alleviate this difficulty for others with my expertise and care.  My clients and family partnerships are invaluable.  

I began my education career in 2003.  In 2019,  I became an IMSE Orton-Gillingham Certified Teacher and a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.  In 2021, I received my certification in Structured Literacy with Lexercise.   In 2023, I joined IMSE Orton-Gillingham as a practicum supervisor.  In 2024, I upgraded my CERI certification and am now a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist.  I am a lifelong learner on a mission to be a cheerleader for readers, writers, and spellers.
